Here we are, the last day of February, 2017, and spring has been underway for more than a month.
Over the next few days, I’ll show some of the wild things already blooming in Fairfax County, VA.

Here it is just starting out under a maple tree.
Some day I will know what this is. But not today. Nigella damascena, Love-in-a-Mist. Also called Persian Buttercup. (Thanks to Frances S. for the clue.)
